it is not the Katrina but how people deal with the Katrina that relates to racial issues.
For example, why did blacks and the poor stay behind? Why was the response so late and inadequate? There are many incidences indicating blatant racial discrimination.
Yes, one may argue that the discrimination is not against blacks but against the poor. Because we don't have many poor whites left, this claim is not refutable.
The Katrina tragedy has incurred many racism views such as those from Babara Bush.
